     Chocolate Malted Cookies

Servings   1-1/2 dozen

Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1-1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup malted milk powder
2 Tbl chocolate syrup
1 Tbl vanilla extract
1 egg
2 cup white flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
 
1-1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate CHUNKS
1 cup (6 oz.) milk chocolate chips

Instructions
In mixer bowl, combine first 5 ingredients; beat for 2 minutes. Add egg; mix in.
Combine flour, soda, salt; add to creamed mix. Stir in chocolate chunks and chips by hand.
Scoop 1/4 cup dough, shape into a ball, (about 2 in.). Place 3-in. apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 375 for 12-14 minutes.
Serving Suggestions
The taste of the malt is better 1-2 days after baking.
