Mix flour, baking soda, salt, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add oil and eggs. Mix thoroughly and then blend in 3 cups peeled, cored apple slices. Any apple will do but granny smith stand up well in this recipe. Oil and 8x8x2 square baking dish, add batter and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

Topping-
6 tbsp oleo or butter crumbled, 1 tsp evaporated milk, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 cup coconut and 1 cup chopped nuts. Crumble topping over entire cake and put under broiler until topping is lightly brown.
