     Cheese and Wheat Beer Bread

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups (12 oz) Beer
2/3 cup Water
1/2 cup cooking oil ( vegetable, corn, or canola)
1 1/2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
4 1/2 to 5 cups all purpose unbleached flour
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Wheat Germ
2 teaspoons salt
2 packages Active Dry Yeast
 
1 Egg
8 oz (2 cups) natural Cheddar Cheese cut into 1/2 inch
cubes or shredded

Instructions
In a saucepan, heat first three ingredients until very warm (120 to 130 degrees) lighly spoon flour into measuring cup. level off. In large bowl combine warm liquid, whole wheat flour, 1 cup all purpose flour, sugar, wheat germ, salt, yeast and egg. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. By hand, stir in remain all purpose flour.
On a well floured surface, knead dough until smooth and elastic. about 5 minutes. Place in greased bowl. Cover; let rise in warm place until ligh and doubled in size. 1 hour to 1 h our and 15 minutes. Line 2 1 quart casserole or 9 x 5 loaf pans with foil. grease well.
Punch down dough and divid into two parts. On a well foured surface work 1 cup of cheese into each part, until eavenly distributed. Shape into loaves., covering cheese. Place into greased loaf pans. Cover; let rise in a warm place until light and double in size. 45 to 60 minutes
Heat over to 350 degrees. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when lightly tapped. Immediately remove from pans. If desired brush with butter.
