In a mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening, and sugars. Add eggs adn vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Fold the chocolate chips. Chill for at least 1 hr. Drop by 1/4 cupfuls at least 1 1/2 inches apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 for 13-15 mins or until golden.
