In a med. mixing bowl mix together flour, salt & soda. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl cream together butter, Crisco and sugars with a mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Remove mixer.

With a wooden spoon or a heavy duty spatula fold in the flour mixture a little at a time. It will be very thick. Mix well, add package of chocolate chips and chopped pecans (if desired). Mix until all is distributed well.

Drop by large teasponfulls onto cookie sheets about 2 in. apart. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes. Let cool slightly on the cookie sheet before removing to cooling racks.
Makes about 3 dozen.
