Preheat oven to 350f. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the egg and continue to beat until light and fluffy.

Mix mashed bananas and baking soda in small bowl. Allow to sit for 2 minutes.

Mix the banana mixture into the butter mixture. Sift flour, salt, and spices together then add to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
|
|
|
Fold in chocolate chips or nuts. Drop by spoonfulls onto parchment paper lined baking sheets. Bake 11-13 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
