     Kaiser Wilhelm's Leibling Suppe

Category   Salads - Soups - Sidedishes
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
4 potatoes, peeled
4 carrots, peeled
2-3 stalks celery
1 bunch leeks (or 1-2 yellow onions) & a few cloves garlic, peeled
1/4 - 1/2 cup butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1 lg. can evaporated milk
Hot dogs
Parsley, chopped

Instructions
Cut vegetables and place in pot. Add water to cover. Boil until well done (falling apart). Blend vegetables and much of the water in blender. Now that pot is empty, melt butter in pot until butter bubbles and just starts to turn brown. Add flour and stir well. Add vegetable mixture, milk, salt, pepper to taste. Stir until soup thickens and boils. Cut up hot dogs, add them and parsley, simmer until they're hot.
This was made by Jerri's mother Flora Wolf and was a favorite of her father Gustav.
