Mix the melted butter, egg yolks, and confectioners sugar together until well blended. Add the Cool Whip and mix again. Set aside.
Tear 1/2 the Angel Food cake into small pieces and place in the bottom of a trifle bowl or other deep glass bowl. Spoon 1/2 the Cool Whip mixture on top. Crush the Butterfingers into small pieces. Scatter 1/2 over the whipped topping. Repeat the layers. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
