salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder to taste
slices of your favorite cheese
3 strips of bacon
a sub roll (hot dog buns are way to small!)
Instructions
On a sheet of plastic wrap, flatten the meat to about 1/4 inch thick and sprinkle with salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. Add two slices of your favorite cheese.
Next, lay one of your favorite brand of all beef hot dog in the center. (I prefer either Oscar Myer, Nathan's or Hebrew National)Use the plastic wrap to help you to wrap the hamburger around the hot dog. Pulling the plastic wrap away from the meat as you wrap. Make sure that the burger is sealed well all around the hot dog so that the cheese will not escape while cooking.
Wrap three slices of bacon around each of your burger dogs and secure with toothpicks.
Cook them over medium low heat either on the stove top or the grill. You can't cook these too fast, if you do, the bacon will burn and the hamburger meat will be undercooked and the hot dogs will be cold. So take your time, they are worth it! Don't forget to remove the toothpicks before serving!
