(Oven Directions)
Combine 3 cups flour, ndissolved yeast, sugar, salt and soda. Heat liquids until very warm (120-130 degrees). Add to dry ingredients; beat well. Stir in enough flour to make a stiff batter. Spoon into two 8.5 X 4.5 X 2.5 in loaf pans that are well greased and generously sprinkled with cornmeal. Smooth tops with a wet hand and sprinkle tops with cornmeal. Cover, let rise in warm place for 45 minutes. (Less for rapid rise yeast) Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from pans immediately and cool. Serve warm.

(Microwave Directions)
Reduce flour by 1 cup. Use glass pans. Mix and let rise as directed above. Microwave one loaf at a time on high power for 6.5 minutes. !No Longer! Surface of loaf will be moist, flat, and pale. Allow to rest 5 minutes before removing from pans. To serve after it has cooled- slice and toast.
