     Cabbage/Hamburger Soup

Ingredients
1 lb extra lean hamburger
1 c each chopped celery & onions
1/2 c chopped green bell pepper
1 clove garlic (who are they kidding 4 or 5) minced
1 can 28 oz diced tomatoes
1 can tomato paste 5 1/2 oz
5 c beef broth
2 c cubed potatoes
1 c chopped carrots
 
1/4 c chopped parsley optional
2 T red wine vinegar
1 T sugar
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 tsp dried basil
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp each salt & pepper
3 c thinly sliced cabbage

Instructions
In a large pot cook beef onions green pepper and garlic over med heat until beef is brown. Add all remaining ingredients except abbage. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to med low. cover and simmer for 30 min.
Stir in cabbage and simmer for 30 more min.Remove bay leaf. Best made a day in advance but who does that
