In heavy pan, melt chocolate with butter, stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mis well. Stir in flour and salt. Add nuts if desired.
Spread into 2 greased 8 inch square baking pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. COol on wire rack. Dust with confectioners sugar.
