     Cabbage and Apple Slaw

Category   Salads - Soups - Sidedishes
Sub Category   None
Servings   6
Preptime   20 minutes

Ingredients
Salad-
3 cups shredded cabbage
1 large red apple, diced, unpeeled
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup pecans, chopped
Celery seed
Dressing-
6 T. Vegetable Oil

1/2 cup cold water
4 T. Cider vinegar
6 T. Sugar
1 tsp. Dry Mustard
1 tsp. Grated onion
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Celery Seed

Instructions
Salad- Place all ingredients in a salad bowl and toss lightly to mix. Next make dressing.
Dressing- Put all ingredients in a small glass jar with tight lid (or some type of shaker/container with a tight lid) and shake vigorously until mixed; or you can also put in a blender and pulse to mix for about 20-30 seconds.
Pour dressing over salad, mix well. Allow the salad to rest and soak in the dressing. Stir off and on to keep the dressing evenly distributed. I usually allow 2-3 hours for this salad to rest and marinate itself before serving.
Serving Suggestions
I have made this salad with steak dinners, thanksgiving and also makes a nice side with a simple sandwich for lunch. Delicious!!!
