2 cups sugar
1/2 cup white corn syrup
1/2 cup water
2 egg whites
1 cup chopped, toasted pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine sugar, water, and syrup in sauce pan. Stir only while dissolving. Boil without stirring until syrup will spin a foot long thread. (Dip spoon into syrup and hold up letting it stream back into the pan. The stream will ge thinner and lighter and will float outward and upward.
Beat egg whites until stiff. When syrup is ready, pour slowsly over egg whites, beating constantly. Beat in a lifting motion until mixture is creamy and beginning to look chalky. Add nuts and vanilla. Spoon onto waxed paper.
