Place butter in saucepan and melt it. Lower heat to medium low
or low. Stirring constantly, add the sugar and the dash of salt
and continue stirring until a candy thermometer reads 270F.
Continue stirring and add almonds. Continue heating and
stirring until thermometer reaches 310F. Remove from the heat
and add the rum flavoring. Use wooden spoon, pour onto
aluminum foil thinly. Cool and break into pieces.
