     Beer Pot Roast

Ingredients
3-4 lb. rump roast
4 slices bacon
1 onion, sliced
12 oz. beer
3 1/2 cups water
2 tbsps. cider vinegar
1 tbsp, brown sugar
Salt to taste
6 pepper corns
 
3 cloves
1 bay leaf

Instructions
Fry bacon, remove from pan. Fry slices onion, remove from pan.
Dredge meat in flour and brown, remove from pan. Replace bacon and onion placing meat on top.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer slowly for 3 hours.
We put the spices into a tea leaf strainer for easy removal later.
