     Oma Wilson's Sauerkraut

Ingredients
1 jar sauerkraut German type ( Hengstenberg)
2 T brown sugar
1 c apple sauce
2 tsp caraway
1 small grated potato
 

Instructions
Grate one potato in sauce pan and add 1/2 cup water (enough to cover potato). Bring to a boil. Turn down temp to medium heat. Then add apple sauce, brown sugar, caraway and sauerkraut. Stir and simmer for a couple of minutes. Place sauerkraut back in jar and store in refrigerate and use as needed.
