     Cassie’s Homemade Brownies

Ingredients
½ cup butter…not margarine
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp water
1 ½ tsp vanilla
4oz – unsweetened chocolate baking bars
2 large eggs
¼ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
 
1 1/3 cup flour

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease baking pan. Combine sugar, brown sugar, butter, and water in large bowl. Microwave on high for 2 min. Stir, and microwave again for 2 min. Add baking bars; stir until melted.
Stir in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, and salt (don’t need to combine beforehand); stir until completely combined. Pour into greased baking pan.
Bake for 16-18 min or until toothpick comes out slightly sticky. Cool in pan. Makes 16-20 brownies.
*For nut lovers – add ½ cup pecans before baking, and when cool sprinkle powdered sugar over the top to make, what my family calls, my Texas Brownies.
