Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Add mashmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
(Or melt in microwave slowly - stirring often.)
Add rice krispies. Stir until well coated. Using buttered spatula or waxed paper press mixture evenly into buttered 9x13 pan.
Cut into squares when cool.
