Crispy Chocolate Treats in a Jar Recipe

Ingredients

	2/3 cup miniature candy-coated semisweet chocolate baking bits
	1 (1-qt.) glass jar with cover
	1 cup whole wheat cereal squares
	1/2 cup raisins
	1/2 cup peanuts
	2/3 cup butterscotch chips
	Fabric and ribbon
	(1/4 cup peanut butter to make treats)


Instructions


Place 1/3 cup of the baking bits in resealable food storage plastic bag or wrap them in sheet of plastic wrap. Place in bottom of jar, hiding zipper section underneath bag.


Layer with 1/2 cup of the cereal squares, the raisins, peanuts, remaining 1/2 cup cereal squares, remaining 1/3 cup baking bits and the butterscotch chips. Press down gently while layering to make sure all ingredients fit. Cover; decorate top with fabric and ribbon.


Copy the following directions on decorative card; tie to jar with ribbon.


TO PREPARE TREATS Line cookie sheets with waxed paper. Place 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter in medium sauce-pan. Spoon in butterscot chips and top layer of baking bits. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until melted. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining contents of jar except for baking bits in plastic bag. Drop mixture by rounded tablespoons onto waxed paper-lined cookie sheets. Sprinkle remaining baking bits in bag evenly over top of cookies. Refrigerate about 10 minutes or until set.
