     Chocolate Icebox Pudding

Category   Desserts - Breads
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
2 cakes German Sweet Chocolate
4 egg whites
3 Tbls hot water
2 tsp powdered sugar
4 egg yolks
1 1/2 dozen ladyfingers or 1 box vanilla wafers

Instructions
Stiffly beat the egg whites. Melt the chocolate, hot water and sugar in a double boiler that has been removed from the heat. Add the egg yolks 1 at a time. When the mixture is cool, add to the egg whites. Line a 9x13 pan with the layer of ladyfingers, pour half the chocolate mixture over them. Place another of the lady fingers on top and pour the rest of the chocolate over that layer of ladyfingers. Place in the refrigerator. Serve with whipped cream.
This was one of Uncle Merrill's and Aunt Angie's families favorite desserts. It originally came from their Grandmother Goff.
