Cut the bread into desired shapes using a cookie
cutter.
Whisk the eggs and milk together in a shallow dish.
Heat the butter in a frying pan. Dip each piece of
bread into the egg one at a time, then gently fry on
each side until golden.

Serve with a tart berry jam such as blackcurrant.
