Mix apples with 5 tbsp sugar, lemon, and cinnamon and set aside.
In a mixer beat together sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla.
In a separate bowl mix together flour, salt, and baking powder.
Alternate pouring in flour mixture and orange juice into the mixer.
Grease a tubular pan.
Pour in half the batter, then half the apples, then cover with the rest
of the batter.
spread the rest of the apples on top.
Bake at 350 F for approximately 1 hour.
