     Butterscotch Apple Dumplings

Ingredients
1/4 c butter
1/2 c brown sugar
3 T flour
Dash salt
1 12 c water
2 c chopped pared apples
1 T lemon juice
Dumplings-
 
1 c flour
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg beaten
1/4 c milk
1 T melted shortening

Instructions
Melt butter in a sauce pan. Stir in sugar flour salt add water apples and lemon.cook until thick.
Mix together dumpling ingedients. Drop by spoonfuls into hot simmering sauce. Cook for 20 min on low with the lid on.
