     Strawberry Pie (fresh)

Ingredients
1.5 quarts strawberries washed and hulled dried real well
1 pie shell baked
Make a glaze of-
1/2 guart berries crushed
1/2 c water
1 c sugar
2 1/2 T cornstarch
1 T butter or marg
 

Instructions
Baked pie shell crust homemade or bought. Cool to room temp.
Wash dry and hull berries. I roll them around in a tea towel to get dry. Place 1 quart of berries in shell pointy end up one layer deep. I set this in fridge to cool berries while waiting for sauce to cool.
To make the sauce crush remaining berries in a sauce pan. Add water and sugar. Bring to a boil. Thicken with cornstarch. Cook till thickened. Stir in butter. I pour this into a shallow dish and place in fridge freezer for an hour. Stir a couple times. Still needs to be pourable. Will not be cold just cooled well. Pour over berries in the shell and smooth over the top till all berries are coated. Back into the fridge. Serve with whip cream.
