Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. In a smaller bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda, and oats. Add to butter mixture and mix well. Stir in the raisins. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
