Combine warm milk, shortening, salt and spices and
cool to lukewarm. Add yeast (softened in warm
water). Add eggs and mix well. Add 4 cups flour
and beat well. Add fruits, nuts and remaining 4
cups flour.
Let rise until doubled in size. Punch down and
knead lightly
Form into 2 round loadves in 2 round greased 9 inch
cake pans (You may also make into 3 ropes, braid
together and place on greased cookie sheet). Let
rise until doubled.
Bake in oven about 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
While warm, brush top with melted butter or frost
with light powdered sugar icing. Freezes well.
