8 tbsp (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold, cut into cubes
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (not quick-baking)
3 pounds apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1/2 inch chunks
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375. In large bowl, mix flour, brown
sugar, salt, an 2 tbsp granulated sugar. Cut butter
into flour until mixture is texture of coarse meal.
Add oats, toss and squeeze mixture until large,
moist clumps form. Transfer to freezer to chill.
In another large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice,
cinnamon, and 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Transfer to
baking dish and sprinkle with topping mixture.
Bake until golden and bubbling, 55 to 65 mins. Let
cool 10 mins before serving.
