Mix laundry starch with just enough cold water to
make a paste, then add more water to make a total
of 8 cups. Heat the mixture until it is clear,
stirring constantly to prevent lumping. Stir in
soap flakes, dissolving them and distributing the
solution evenly throughout.

To color, add 2 heaping tablespoon of powdered
tempera paint to each 8 ounces of the starch and
soap mixture After adding the tempera paint, it may
be necessary to add a little water to make the
mixture more fluid.

When ready for use, it should be thick as cream.
Dark colors work the best.
