Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a
time. Mixture should be light.

Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add to butter
mixture alternating with buttermilk. Begin and end
with flour mixture. Add 3 tbsps of lemon juice and
the grated zest of one lemon.

|
Bake in a nonstick tube pan for 50 minutes at 300
degrees. Test for doneness with toothpick.. I found
it took longer to bake but I didn't write down how
much longer..

|
Glaze - optional - cream butter and confectioners
sugar, add lemon juice. Decorate with curls of lemon
peel.
