Grease and flour 10 inch stem pan. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Beat shortening until creamy. Gradually add 2 cups sugar,, beat until fluffy. Add egg yolks. Beat and mix well. Mix 3 cups flour together with soda, salt, and buttermilk. Add together with other mixture. Add extracts. Beat egg whites until they form a peak. Add the last cup of sugar. Fold into batter. Bake 1 hour 15 minutes at 325 degrees.
