Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium sized sauce pan, on medium-low heat, melt caramels and cream together. Cool slightly.
After starting the above process, get out a large mixing bowl. Melt your butter then mix in flour, quick oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Stir until butter is absorbed.
Press 1/2 of the flour, oats, etc. mixture into a 9x13 pan. Bake @ 350 for 10 minutes.
Take the pan out of the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped nuts over the top. Next, pour the caramel on top and sprinkle the remaining flour, oats, etc. mixture.
Bake again @ 350 for another 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool slightly, serve and enjoy.
NOTE- It's best to cut the entire pan while they are a little warm.
