     Scotish Shortbread

Ingredients
1 lb butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup cornstarch
4 cups sifted flour
 

Instructions
Cream butter and sugar. Add cornstarch and gradually add flour. The last 1/2 cup or so should be kneaded with you hands until the mixture comes clean from the bowl. Pat into 9x13 pan or 9 inch pan. Prick all over with tines of fork. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees, then turn down oven to 300 degrees and bake an additional 45 minutes or until lightly browned. Cut into squares immediately after removing from oven.
