     Sour Cream Drop Cookies

Ingredients
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
 
Frosting - Burnt Sugar
6 Tblspns butter
1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
3/4 tsp. vanilla
3 to 4 Tblspns hot water

Instructions
Cookies- Cream together shortening, sugar, and egg. Add sour cream and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients & add to creamed shortening mixture. Chill for 1 hour. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes or until lightly borwned. Remove to wire racks and cool.
Frosting- Melt butter in a saucepan until golden brown (don't burn). Stir in confectioner's sugar, vanilla, and enough water to achieve a glazing consistency. Frost cooled cookies.
Serving Suggestions
You might want to double the recipe -- they're good!
