1/3 cup margarine
2 cups flour
1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup raisins
3/4 cup milk
pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a large cookie sheet. Cut the margarine into the flour and baking powder until fine and crumbly. mix in sugar, raisins and milk, adding the milk 1 tablespoon at a time.
Turn out on a floured surface and form in to a round, thick circle. Cut in 8 wedges with a sharp knife. Lay on the greased sheet. Sprinkle a bit of sugar over each.
Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Remove from sheet while warm and split, topping with butter.
