Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 2 round cake pans.

|
In largest bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add 1 egg and beat. Add second egg and beat.
|
|
|
Add dry ingredients and beat on medium until smooth. Stir in vanilla and milk.
|
|
|
Bake for about 20-25 minutes on center rack. Cool well before removing cakes from pans.
