season ground chuck and form into patties. dip each patty in flour. bring to room temperature and brown on both sides with a couple of tablespoons of hot oil. remove patties from pan and set aside. slice onions and toss in skillet. while onios carmalize, mix together 1 cup beef broth, 1 cup water, salt and pepper. add flour to seasoned water and whisk. slowly add flour and water to skillet. bring to a boil. when thickened, add patties, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
