Instructions
1. Considered to be present when places or situations are being avoided. People with agoraphobia generally do not feel safe in public places.
2.Develops in response to repeated exposure and anxiety-provoking events. Psychoanalytic theory describes agoraphobia the result of a feeling of emptiness that comes from an unresolved oedipal conflict, which is a struggle between the feelings the person has toward the opposite-sex parent and a sense of competition with the same-sex parent.
There are a variety of treatments available for agoraphobia, including specific kinds of psychotherapy as well as several effective 3.medications. A specific form of psychothearapy that focuses on decresing negative,anxiety- provoking, or other self-defeating thoughts and behaviors have been found to be highly effective in treating agoraphobia
