     My Homemade BBQ Sauce

Category   Sauces
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
1 tablespoons butter plus 1 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup cider vinegar
1 cup chili sauce
1 cup bottled BBQ sauce
1 tablespoon dry mustard

1 tablespoon paprika
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons molasses (unsulfered)
1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
Melt butter with oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, garlic and jalapeno. (I cut up jalapeno slices from a jar of jalapeno slices if I don't have fresh). Saute 5-6 minutes or until onion is tender.
Stir in brown sugar and remaining ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer 10 minutes. Pour mixture through a wire-mesh strainer into a bowl, discarding solids.
