     SOUR CREAM CAKE

Ingredients
2 3/4 c sugar
2 sticks butter, softened
6 egg yolks
1 c (8 oz) sour cream
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
1 tsp lemon flavoring
2 3/4 c plain flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
 
Stiffly beaten egg whites

Instructions
Cream sugar & butter together. Beat in the egg yolks, one at a time. Stir in the sour cream & flavorings. Sift together (3 times) flour, soda & salt. Beat well. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Place in a 10inch tube pan that has been greased & floured. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
Mom made this every family event, so I wanted it in this book. Karen Since this book is supposed to be everyone's favorite recipes to make or things that everyone always asks you to make, this book HAD TO HAVE this recipe for Peggy's cake. I know that every time we got together and Peggy was coming the first thing I looked for in the desserts was HER cake. Lori
