     SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE

1/2 lb & 2 tbsp butter 3 c sugar Cream butter & sugar. Add 6 eggs, one at a time, beat. Combine & sift 3 c flour, 1/4 tbsp baking soda, 1/4 tbsp salt, add to cream mixture' alternately with 1 pt sour cream. I make 3 additions of each add 1 tbsp lemon, orange or almond flavoring. Bake in tube pan 1 1/2 hours at 275. This cake is similar to Peggy's but the recipe came from a Shriner's cook book from the 1950's. Bobbie Johnson & I both made it many times. I like this cake just plain, but Jack liked fresh strawberries on his. It is my favorite cake.
