Cook until hard ball stage (strings will form from spoon). Beat 3 egg whites till stiff. Pour cooked mixture into beaten egg whites, use mixer & beat till it begins to harden. Add 1 tsp vanilla & then Y2 c nuts. Pour into buttered plate to cool. Cut into squares after cooling process is done.
This is definitely afavorite. There are many variations of divinity. Food coloring can be used (green with peppermint flavoring for Christmas ), chopped maraschino cherries, maple flavoring & black walnuts instead of pecans.
