     Mexican Corn Bread 2

Ingredients
1 cup cornmeal
2 eggs
1 Tablespoon bacon grease
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup cream style corn
1 small can green chilies, chopped or whole
Grated American or cheddar cheese
 

Instructions
Mix all ingredients except the chilies and cheese. Pour half of the batter in greased pan/ If whole chilies are used, remove the seeds. Place on layer of batter. Place a layer of cheese on top of chilies. Pour remaining batter over the cheese and bake in 400 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
