     Chili Con Carne

Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds ground beef, chuck or round
2 medium onions, sliced
1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 cup water
1 beef bouillon cube
1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans
2 Tablespoons diced green peppers
2 cloves garlic, minced
 
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons oregano
2 teaspoons chili powder or ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon crushed red peppers or to taste
1 bay leaf
Premium saltine crackers

Instructions
Combine first two ingredients in a Dutch oven or large saucepan. Brown meat; drain off fat. Add next 12 ingredients; stir to blend. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf. Serve with premium saltine crackers.
