     Campfire Pies

Category   Desserts - Breads
Sub Category   None
Servings   1

Ingredients
2 pieces white bread
softened butter
pie filling of your choice
cinnamon and sugar for dredging

Instructions
I remember making these when I was a girl and we camped our way through Europe. I just loved them! My parents always got apple, blueberry and cherry pie filling, and it was our treat for setting up camp! Put a piece of bread butter side down and add a spoon or two of your favorite pie filling (don't put too much because it will spill out and it gets very hot!). Put the second piece of bread butter side up. Close the pie iron and toast over the campfire until lightly browned. Take pie iron to a container of cinnamon and sugar, open it over the container and dredge your pie. Serve on a plate as soon as it is cool enough! You could also use icing on top or powdered sugar.
