1 large northern pike or similar fish cut ito suitable pieces for serving
2 quarts boiling water
salt
15 whole peppercorns
12 potatoes, diced
2 cups celery, diced
2 large onions, diced
1 quart whole milk
1 cup (or less) butter or margarine
6 carrots, diced
Instructions
AKA Fish Chowder
Cook the fish for about 10 minutes in seasoned water. Remove the fish, cool and bone it. To the same water add the diced vegetables and cook until tender. Add milk, butter and fish. Heat to boiling point and serve. If less liquid is desired, drain off some of the water before adding the milk.
