Cook fettuccine according to package directions; drain. Place in a serving bowl. Meanwhile, combine butter and whipping cream in a saucepan; cook over low heat until butter melts. Stir in cheese and next 3 ingredients; add nutmeg if desired. Pour mixture over hot fettuccine; toss well. Serve immediately.
