Cook sugar and syrup over moderate heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves and mixture bubbles for about 7 minuts or until syrup spins a thread when tested. Add butter. Pour mixture over corn flakes that have been placed in a buttered mixing bowl. Stir so taht each corn flake is coated. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper or a buttered surface.
