     Caramel Candy

Ingredients
3 cups sugar
2 teaspoons white Karo syrup
1 cup canned mlk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups nuts, chopped
1 teaspoon butter
 

Instructions
Mix 2 cups sugar with milk and Karo. While heating over medium heat, brown remaining cup sugar over medium heat in heavy pan until golden brown. Pour into hot milk mixture, stirring constantly. Cook until it forms a soft ball in cold water. Add butter and beat. Add vanilla and nuts and beat until just before it is too hard to pour. Pour into well buttered dish and spread. Cool; and cut into squares.
