     Tsoureki Bread Pudding

Ingredients
For Bread Mixture-
4 cups milk
1.5 cups sugar
2 tblspn vanilla
1/2 tspn cinnamon
1/4 teaspon nutmeg
1 cup craisins or raisins
3 eggs
3 tbspn butter (melted)
 
8 cups cut up tsoureki (approx enough to soak up milk)
For Sauce-
1 stick butter (melted)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup liquor of choice(whiskey, rum, ameretto)

Instructions
For Sauce- In a saucepan melt butter, add sugar, & egg. Whisk together to blend. Keep at a low heat so that the egg does not curdle. Stir constantly until mixture thickens. Whisk in orange juice/alcohol mixture. Remove from heat. Whisk again before serving.
Bread Pudding- Preheat oven to 350F, 9x13 pan In a large mixing bowl soak the bread in milk. Press with hands until well mixed and all milk is absorbed. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, sugar, vanilla , and spices all together. Gently stir into bread mixture. Gently stir in raisins. Pour butter on the bottom of pan and along sides. Coating completely. Pour in bread mixture and bake at 350F for 35-45 minutes, until set The pudding is done when the edges start getting a bit brown and pull away from the edge of the pan.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with sauce on the side to taste or over individual pieces.
